Okay!!! Explanations!
Okay... Jaden-Kun here making an explanation as to just what the "Gamestrider" story is and the different terminology used. The story of the gamestriders takes place in this facility in an alternate dimension where game players, known as "Striders" travel to different worlds in systems far away to save them from destruction! :3 It's a product of LOTS of video game playing as a kid and me wondering: What if there was some place that actually took note of how many villains you've destroyed in video games. That place would consider you a real hero, then if you played as many games as I have! :D So, My character, named "Kamui" (The name I often enter at high score screens in the arcade), is a new Strider with a record that proceeds him. He's just recently been taken in to Strider HQ, and found to his amazment that one of his other friends, "Amaya" (nickname for my friend, Sher-bear) is also a strider. He is then plunged into his first mission with Amaya as his coach into Clock Tower 3, which takes place in the Purei Suteishun Tuu System (Playstation 2, get it? :P) Every game counts as it's own world, completely separate from the other, except in the case of sequesl, and they read as follows:
Playstation 2: Purei Suteishun Tuu
Gamecube: Geim Kyuub
X-Box: Ecksbocks
PC: Peesi
Gameboy Advance: Geimboi Advaans
Playstation: Purei Suteishun
Nintendo 64: Nentindou Sixteefor
Dreamcast: Jureem Kast
Super Nintendo: Soopur Nentindou
Nintendo: Nentindou
Arcade: Arkeide
Anything I'm forgetting I'll add later... :P
Now... as for the gameplay-storyline mix, there's a little thing I threw in where these Renegade Striders took it upon themselves to side with the Fainalbahs, or in some cases, just turn on the Striders in general and wreak havoc in the worlds they were commissioned to protect! :( They suck! And as for what classifies as a Rogue Strider, if you have ever fought a boss in a game that was even tougher than the final boss, I'm making it so that that was a rogue strider... :P
As for the terminology in gameplays, here's some of that terminology:
Bahs: Boss. :P A boss that you have to fight in the game, may or may not be a renegade Strider.
Fainalbahs: Final Boss of the game, usually the one threatening the world. Very rarely, a renegade strider.
Mark: The person in the game who called on the striders for help... sometimes they are a supporting character, other times, they play only a bit part. But usually they are instrumental in beating the game.
Oracle: Whenever someone helps me in a game, like, in real life... :P They are an oracle... example: When i first played Clock Tower 3, Sher-bear was watching and giving me tips and cheering me on... so she was an Oracle... :P In the story, they're the tactical advisors... :P
Persona: The person that the Strider takes control of during gameplay. Usually the main character, but can sometimes be a supporting character, such as in FFX, when I liked Yuna's abilities better than Tidus's, :P So i used her more often... :P
Imposition: the type of "possesion" used when Striding. Sometimes the main character won't even speak unless you get them to, and others, you simply make thge choices and they do the actions... the types of impositions are:
Full Imposition: The character does not walk, talk, act, or ANYTHING unless you press a button. Very minimal cutscenes and even fewer words spoken without you actually choosing or typing. This is usually in games like .hack or Everquest.
Ghost Imposition: The character does most of the talking. You control the character and their actions, but pleanty of cutscenes and the character can sometimes act on their own. This is for about 75% of the games out there...
Conscience Imposition: You move the character, and you choose their actions... but they do everything else... the rest of it plays out like a movie you can only watch. This is for RPGs and the like, where your prescence is more like a voice in the back of their brain.
PHEW!!!! I'm beat!!! I'll come back later with more info. Any questions, just ask! :3
